Question 4: Who would be the audience for your media product?

Question 3: What have you learnt about technologies?

Technology in my media as from scottnaylor96

Technology
What I have learnt from using this
Camera
The camera was essential for my work and allowed me to take my pictures for my magazine, I learnt from this product how to focus and take clear images, how to get the lighting correct to create a clear background and how to prevent shadows from appearing, and any shadows that were caught on camera were removed afterwards in Adobe Photoshop.
Blogger
I used blogger to post information on my progress; I had never used this before but I did find it fairly easy to work with because it was very easy to upload blog entries, I also learnt how to upload pictures and videos with my posts. I also learnt how to personalise the page and make it my own.
Adobe Photoshop
I used Adobe Photoshop to edit and create the different images to go in my magazine, on this I edited any shadows that appeared on the model, removed any spots using cropping and cutting etc. I also removed the backgrounds to keep them completely shadow free. I edited about four photos   out of all the photos that I took and was overall quite happy with how they came out.
Prezi
Prezi was probably my least used piece of technology. I used this for my evaluation but that is all and posted the link to my blog. This was very easy to use and create; I learnt how to make a basic PowerPoint style clip on this explaining my magazine and the reasoning behind the house colours etc.
Adobe InDesign
Adobe InDesign was probably my most used piece of technology along with Blogger as it was the main programme for my magazine. On this programme I learnt to use different tools on it, this helped me to create my magazine and helped me to organize where everything should go on the page.
Paint
Paint was used for little details, I already knew how to use this and so it was very easy to work with, I used it to create different details to go on my magazine cover such as the banner flags, barcode and album cover (the album cover was placed on the double page spread). I did learn that the images had to be very large to be placed on to InDesign as when put on here detail was lost and so the bigger the picture, the better the quality was.

Question 2: What kind of media institution might distribute your product and why?

My magazine is aimed at people who like alternate music and so is quite select in my area, I don't think they would be widely available because of this. It wouldn't be published by magazine companies like future as future tends to make gaming magazines which is very specific to an area. This is a lot like the BBC as they tend to make magazines which are created and designed to promote their programmes or for people whom enjoy their programmes.
My magazine is aimed at people in the age range of 20’s and about late 30’s, I do not want to be too specific as I am happy for anyone to buy the magazine, this is fairly young so I want my magazine to be published by a magazine company which produces current magazines which are also targeted at my age range, this way they can promote my magazine and it is likely that they have the same interests.

I would like to use a company which produces music magazines because, again, this is a similar area and can get people interested in my magazine, especially as this would be a low produced magazine and so a lot of people who would be interested in this particular magazine would be able to hear about it through this.

In this case I would probably pick the company Conde Nast, as they are very experience and produce current magazines like Vogue, Vanity Fair and Wired. Although this is in a different area a lot of people buy these magazines and so would give my magazine a lot of attention. As this particular company focuses on specific areas such as fashion fanatics it is ideal as my magazine chooses a very specific group to focus on. The specific topic for my magazine is alternate music allowing the company to have branches in other genres like music and entertainment.

Question 1: In what ways does your media product use, develop or challenge forms and conventions of real media products?
